Midsummer Report

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 8:15 AM
  • Mood: Sunny Mood
  • Listening to: The microwave. :O
  • Reading: This.
  • Watching: Me, typing.
  • Playing: Nothing.
  • Eating: Possibly?
  • Drinking: Nothing.
A somewhat militant title, but that's essentially what it is.

United with some of the KU boys and went to the Lehigh Valley Mall. Wasn't anything invigorating, just basically making fun of mall goths and dicking around in...was it Suncoast? Eh, some music and video store, they all look alike. We left before the employees got pissed with our shenanigans.
M got got kicked out for climbing up an escalator. Those cops scared me a little, I thought they were going to yell at us for shouting about AIDS and HIV...yes, I'm well aware we may be legally retarded. But some people have no sense of fun. Anyway, we went to a diner afterward and had some good laughs, cheap food. We stood around the parking lot afterward and talked for about an hour or two.

Went to Dorney Park with two of my KU girls, it was an amazing time. We rode just about every ride worth riding, several times over. At one point, Emily wanted to ride the train that goes in a circle around the "dry half" of the park, so we told the conductor, who was obviously thrilled people our age were actually interested in his ride, that we'd be back. So a few rides later, close to closing time, we ran toward the ride and got on last minute. I think I was screaming something like "OH JESUS HURRY UP WE'RE GONNA MISS THE TRAIN HOME!" Conductor Dude gave us a little history on Dorney Park, used to be a zoo, this is where the Laser was, blah blah blah. Then we rode Steel Force and Possessed (formerly known as Voodoo) at night, which, if you're a roller coaster junkie like me, was pure AWESOME.

Needless to say we were exhausted that night, but were up the next day and squished into the back of my friend's car for a 4 1/2 hour drive. These asshats in a Camry, with a duct-taped mirror, tailed us for a while and made for general ass-hattery, so we gave them the finger, and then later on we were parked right next to them at a Sunoco. :x

This other car full of people was doing something douchebag-ish, so we gave them the finger, too. It's fun driving with S, she always has some sort of road rage episode. I never gave anyone the bird, because I'm lame like that, and it also takes a lot to get me pissed off enough to do that.

We went camping in Ohiopyle State Park, which is, despite it's title, in PA. Beautiful place, especially along the creeks and rivers. Lot's of big rocks to perch on and sunbathe, or watch the rafters drift by towards the rapids (which looked like fun).

We also went down a "natural" water slide made out of rock. That's right, rock. If you don't feel like finding one of these natural wonders, and wish to recreate the experience at home, just fall down the stairs. On your ass. Making sure to collide with the wall a couple times on the way down. Add in some thumb tacks for good measure, and have someone dump a gallon of water down your nose, and voila, you have a natural water slide. Yeah, I don't think any of us are doing that again any time soon.

Our tent was massive. S's dad roasted some turkeys and seasoned them with Cajun spice. Delicious. Much better than the raw hot dogs we ate for breakfast. D: We were camping with 30+ people. There were less tents there than I thought. Some of the tents, man...they had fucking PORCHES and roofs outside the zipper-doors. Now that's camping in style.

Been babysitting my sisters for around 200 a week, more than I would make at a full-time job. :o It's been easy work, the only thing that sucks is gettign up at 6:30 in the morning. But, I get to hang out at the pool, play video games, watch TV, got to parks. Shit I probably wouldn't be doing on my time off, had I a normal job. I'm still working at B&BW, just on weekends. It's an ok job. Pretty easy work when they put me on register or stocking shelves. I'm not so good at the 'greeting and engaging people' part, though. It just so happens that I have a general dislike of most people. In the words of George Carlin, "People are fucking boring."

Went and saw Public Enemies on a date, and got treated to dinner afterward. =) Haven't heard from the boy in a few days, I hate it when he goes to his dad's. Don't know if we're ever gonna be more than friends, but we'll see. I'm willing to try if he is.

Saw fireworks with S and her boyfriend M (S&M, hehe) near Reading on the 4th. It was a really good show, and right above our heads. My favorite ones are the chandeliers, and the ones that spiral and make loud zipping noises. These emo kids sat behind us, looked like Twitards so we bashed Edward Cullen and Stephanie Meyer like nobodies business. They left their trash everywhere. Guess they were too depressed to help keep the place fucking CLEAN.

That's about it for now. Trying to think of a birthday present for my dad. I wish we didn't fight every time we talked to each other, but all he ever talks about is money. It's like listening to a broken record. A very loud, angry record that spits fire. But he's still my dad, and we've had some good times. I try to think of him as he was then, it helps me accept him as he is now. He's getting an office job again, so hopefully he won't worry as much about money. He seems to think that I'm not getting anywhere at college, not applying myself enough, blah blah blah. He's probably right. I'm too stubborn to do anything yet.

Friend N is having a rave party Friday night into Saturday, I really want to go so I can see some buddies that I haven't hung out with since May. M is having a pool party starting Saturday afternoon. There's going to be a competition involving Crisco and a watermelon. I hope I can make that. xD

Will probably write again in a month or two.
